Jr. Calypsoians Ready & Excited for Summer Festival 2010 |
 The Junior Calypsoians and the executive Committee were invited to Viceroy Anguilla by the General Manager to enjoy a complimentary Fruit Punch Cocktail and a tour of the Resort and its facilities by the Front Office Manager Mr. Trevor Richardson on Saturday April 17th , as part of the Calypsoians recreational events leading up to the Summer Festival.
The visit was described by the young Calypsoians as very exciting and welcoming. The design and structure of the facilities fascinated them. The committee was very pleased with the services of the bartenders and that of Mr. Richardson.
The Committee has a total of ten (10) young vibrant and enthusiastic calypsoians, eight from the previous years and two beginners. They are Singing Niqua (Reigning Jr. Monarch of 2009/10), singing Destiny, Mighty Jam Out, Singing Netsy, Mighty Pantha, Lady Nesh, Soldier Boy, Mighty Viglef and also Mr. Danger & Calypso Nicky both new to the arena. Registration to enter the Junior Calypso competition is closed.
The Jr. Competition is tied in with the Prince and Princess Show which is usually scheduled for the first Sunday in August, a day which is described by both committees as a family night where parents bring their children out to enjoy an evening of youthful performances. Garson and Company have been playing for this show for a number of years and have been once again selected to provide music for the competition.
The organizing committee is comprised of Ms. Nickisha Richardson (Chairperson), Ms. Keria Hughes (Public Relations Officer), Ms. Anthea Connor and Ms. Tiffany Hughes (Treasurers) and Ms. Arlette Richardson (Secretary).
The T- shirts for the junior calypsonians were designed by Ms. Nickisha Richardson and sponsored by Paper’s Barbeque Grill and T. Shirt Printing. The committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to Paper’s Barbeque and T-Shirts Printing and to Viceroy Anguilla for sponsoring what was a very enjoyable experience. |
