At 21 years Singer/songwriter/music producer Tahirah Banks is well on her way to achieving what she describes as her destiny
Growing up the daughter of West-Indian Reggae/Folk Icon Bankie Banx
music became not only a hobby but an outlet through which she's grown to express her thoughts on any given day about any given topic.
A unique mixture of a Singer/Rapper Tahirah incorporates her love of pop, rock and acoustic music with her love of rap/hip-hop music to create what she defines as Popular Music.
The "smoking gun" lies in her ability to create each and every one of her tracks from scratch. Inputting piano, drums, guitar, bass and then vocals. She writes about Love, heartbreak, college, social issues, being broke and overcoming the obstacles that life throws at you.
T.Banks is no novice in the studio, recording tracks from the age of 12 with her junior high school band, to her college dorm room closet today, she's grown from an acoustic pianist to what some might call an all around hit machine, but that's a matter of opinion.
Drawing influence from Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill, Drake, Stevie Wonder and the BackStreet boys (to name a few) Tahirah has infused these sounds to create a vibe that she says Defines her both as an artist and as a woman.
Living In Houston today she has reshaped her sound from that of an adolescent girl to one of a grown woman, secure about who she is and where she is going in life. Absolutely positive that success is around the corner, she lives by her mantra: Dream Supreme, despite your circumstances; for there is an Empowering Power in Positivity.
