Easten Caribbean Dollar (E.C.) with a fixed rate of US$: 1.00 = E.C. $2.68

Ports of Entry:

Wallblake Airport, Blowing Point Ferry Port.
For vessels: Sandy Ground.
Please go thru immigration at all 3 ports.

Immigration:

Customs and Immigration formalities at the airport and seaport take a couple of minutes.

Travelers must be present 60 minutes prior to departure at the airport and 20-30 minutes at the ferry terminal.
Arriving passengers may also fly into Sint Maarten (via major international airlines) and then transfer to the local air carriers, or to the ferry for a 20 -minute boat trip, either from Marigot on the French side or directly from across the airport in Simpsonbay, Dutch side.

Ferries leave Blowing Point every 45 minutes from 7:30 a.m. until 6:15 p.m.
It takes approximately 25 minutes to cross the channel to Marigot.
Ferry shuttle to PJIA Airport in SXM (Dutch side).

Medical:

Dial 911 for an emergency and ambulance service, 24 hours a day.
Princess Alexandra Hospital: 1 (264) 497-2551, in an out patient care.
Prescriptions can be filled at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Pharmacy, Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. / Saturday 8 a.m to 12 noon.

Taxi Service:

Available from Wallblake Airport: 1 (264) 497-5054 and Blowing Point Ferry Terminal: 1 (264) 497-6089. Island Tours provided by taxis and local Tour Companies.

Driving:

Left side. Temporary licence granted by the Police Dpt valid for 3 months, at a cost of US$20.

Speed limit:

30 miles per hour in most areas; 20 miles per hour in busier areas.

Rentals:

Cars, Jeeps, scooters and bikes. Limo service available.

Taxes:

10% government tax. 10% service charge.
Departure tax: Airport: US$20. Ferry Port: US$5.

Marine Regulations:

Every vessel visiting Anguilla must go to a port of entry for Immigration and Customs to obtain a permit to anchor. There is a fee of US$15 for private vessels or US$23 per chartered boat.

Dress Code:

Beaches are all public, no topless bathing or nudity permitted.
Pants required at dinner at some restaurants. Please check with individual restaurants.

Business hours:

Most stores open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays. Boutiques open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Some grocery stores are open until 9 p.m. on weekdays, and also open on Sunday.

Telecommunications:

Cable and Wireless, oldest institution, now named Lime in its cellular service.
Caribbean Cable Communications offering land lines, cable t.v. and internet service.
Digicel, Lime and Weblinks offer cellular service.

Religious services:

You are welcome to attend services at any of Anguilla’s numerous churches. The music and choir are parallel to the degree of devotion you will sense in masses.
Anglican, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventists, Baptist, Church of God of Holiness, Church of God of Prophecy, Roman Catholic, Apostolic Faith, Jehova Witness, Bethany Gospel and the Muslim Faith.
